After spending the past couple of years performing solo acoustic shows across the globe, English singer, songwriter and musician Lloyd Cole is going electric for his upcoming Australian tour.
Performing tracks from his masterful debut with the Commotions, Rattlesnakes, right up to 2023’s acclaimed On Pain, fans can expect two career-defining sets from the acclaimed artist at each show.
Speaking on his upcoming tour, Cole shares: “In 1999, in retreat from mainstream ambivalence, the idea of becoming a troubadour was perversely alluring. Two acoustic guitars, a suitcase, and a round-the-world ticket. It took a while for me to become comfortable with it, but The Folksinger Show became my staple. And then, somehow or other, twenty-five years were gone, and now I find myself approaching the end of my career, and wanting to be seen more as just a singer, who wrote a body of work, very little of which one would reasonably label ‘folk’. So I’m back with my Telecaster, my Princeton amp, and my solo show is now electric.”
Lloyd Cole’s 2026 Australian tour commences in Melbourne at the Recital Centre on Thursday 17 March. The tour continues with concerts at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Thursday 19 March, Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Sunday 22 March, Adelaide’s The Gov on Tuesday 24 March and Perth’s Astor Theatre on Friday 27 March, wrapping up at Hobart’s Odeon on Sunday 29 March.
