Acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ashley Naylor is one of Australia’s hardest-working musicians.
Not only is he the guitarist for The Church, who are hitting the road in November, but Naylor is also a member of The Stems, Paul Kelly’s Band, The Rockwiz Orchestra and Melbourne favs Even, just to name a few.
Following the release of his guitar instrumental albums Soundtracks, Vol. 1 & Vol 2., Naylor returned this year with Alexandria Sunset, an 11-track release inspired by the great singer-songwriters of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
It marks the first album Naylor has released featuring him singing and playing every note, with the artist calling Alexandria Sunset “an unfettered foray into my own rock fantasy, where guitar solos are long, songs take detours, and the audience would just sit and listen to the music. I believe the true essence of this album will reveal itself over time.”
To celebrate the album’s release, Naylor has locked in four shows across the country where he will perform Alexandria Sunset in full. The tour begins in Brisbane at Junk Bar on Friday 14 November before heading to Melbourne’s Odeon on Wednesday 19 November, Sydney’s Factory Floor on Thursday 11 December and Adelaide’s The Grace Emily on Sunday 21 December.
Tickets for all shows are on sale via the venue.

Having recently wrapped up a massive arena tour playing alongside Paul Kelly, Naylor released Alexandria Sunset in September to rave reviews.
Describing himself as “an indie artist hung up on classic rock,” Naylor has been working on three separate albums simultaneously in recent years, choosing to complete what would become Alexandria Sunset.
"This one finished itself first once I committed to the idea that it would consist of songs I recorded all the parts for on my own,” Naylor says. “Much of what I do is in a collaborative environment; this album is a deliberate move into a very singular musical world I've created. These songs were recorded in spare quiet moments which informed the intimacy of much of the material"
Alexandria Sunset by Ashley Naylor is out now via El Reno Music. Catch Ashley Naylor performing at The Grace Emily on Sunday 21 December. Tickets on sale now.
