Melbourne stalwarts Kingswood return in 2026 with new album Midnight Mavericks, out Friday 22 May (pre-order here).
Inspired by the group’s love of vintage rock and country soul, Midnight Mavericks is a bold collection of songs exploring themes such as love, loyalty, escape and ambition.
Produced by Alexander Laska, who also co-wrote all the tracks on the album, the band describes Midnight Mavericks as “an album written after the lights go out. You’re forced to reckon with who you are when no one’s watching. There’s grit here. There’s tenderness. It’s country and rock — worn in, not dressed up — built on melody, muscle, and stories, blending lived-in boots and hopeful dreamers.”
Following the release of acclaimed tracks ‘Lovin’ A Girl’, ‘Last First Kiss’ and ‘Highway Signs’, the lads have shared the album’s fourth single ‘Faith’. Co-written with Tyler Halverson and hit-maker Jon Decious (Lainey Wilson), this one has a real Americana feel to it with a ripping guitar riff.
“‘Faith’ paints a picture of a free-spirited woman who's the embodiment of resilience and joy,” explains Kingswood. “She's cosmic, navigating life with her mama's wisdom, and a healthy dose of pragmatism towards traditional norms. She's the anchor, the muse, and the centre of chaotic worlds. Throw in a touch of philosophy behind embracing the unknowns of love and living it on your own terms and you got Faith.”
If that’s not enough Kingswood news to get you excited, the band have also announced a national tour throughout May and June in support of Midnight Mavericks.
Beginning in Perth at the Rosemount Hotel on Friday 15 May, Kingswood then play Adelaide’s The Gov on Saturday 16 May, Melbourne’s The Corner Hotel on Friday 22 May, Port Douglas’ Savannah Sounds Festival on Saturday 23 May, Brisbane’s Lefty’s Music Hall on Thursday 28 May, Sydney’s The Factory Theatre on Friday 29 May, Hunter Valley’s Full Throttle Ranch on Saturday 30 May and Cairns’ Tanks Art Centre on Friday 19 June, wrapping things up in Cooktown at Discovery Festival on Saturday 20 June.
