Four-time ARIA winner Katie Noonan is embarking on a massive Australian tour performing Jeff Buckley’s classic album Grace.
Hitting the road from September to November, the tour is a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Grace, Buckley’s debut solo album that announced him to the world.
After playing the album as part of a five-date sold-out concert series at Sydney Festival, Noonan has decided to take her show across the country, locking in a monster 20-date tour with support from Jack Carty and Georgia Fields.
Speaking on her love for Buckley and the album, Noonan says: “In 1994, Jeff Buckley’s seminal debut album Grace was released into the world. I was 17 and never had I heard a sound world like this, never had I heard a band that unique and never had I heard a voice that expressive, exploratory and exciting. This album is the single biggest influence on my musical journey and was an enormous inspiration for my debut album, Polyserena, and my 29 subsequent studio albums.
“I was lucky enough to see Jeff live in 1996, and it was honestly a transcendental experience and one of the greatest concerts I will ever see. His integrity, unique sound and achingly honest lyrics have inspired me so deeply, and in the 30th anniversary of the Grace album, I am honoured to present this body of work with some of my favourite musicians and pay homage to a life changing album and a truly once-in-a-lifetime artist.”
Noonan’s tour takes in seven Aussie states and territories, beginning at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Thursday, September 18 and climaxing with the 20th and final show on Saturday, November 8 at Newcastle’s Civic Theatre.
Jack Carty will accompany Noonan at all shows in SA, WA, TAS, QLD, ACT and NSW (except Albury), while Georgia Fields and Andromeda String Quartet are taking to the stage at all VIC shows and in Albury.
Frontier Member pre-sale runs for 24 hours from Thursday, May 22 (11:30am local time). General on-sale kicks off Monday, May 26 (11:30am local time). For ticketing details, visit frontiertouring.com.
