Jesse Welles Plots Debut Australian Tour 2026

American folk singer Jesse Welles is finally making his way to Australia for his debut tour in 2026.
Inspired by songwriting greats such as Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie and John Prine, Welles has established himself as a voice for the voiceless. Singing from the heartlands of America, Welles’ songs explore politics, society and human connection through captivating acoustic ballads.
Welles Down Under The Powerlines Tour begins in Queensland with two shows at Crowbar in Brisbane on Tuesday 27 January and Wednesday 28 January (sold out). Welles then performs at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Thursday 29 January and Friday 30 January (sold out), Melbourne’s The Corner on Monday 2 February (sold out) and Tuesday 3 February, before wrapping up the tour with gigs at Adelaide’s UniBar on Wednesday 4 February and Perth’s Freo Social on Friday 6 February.

Welles has been releasing music under various aliases for close to 15 years. He began writing music as a teen, recording songs on CDs he would burn and sell to his mates. He also spent time living in an art commune in an abandoned building in the mountains around Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He’s released more than 20 albums and a slew of EPs, with 2025 already producing five LPs, the most recent being August’s With the Devil.
Having toured North America and Europe extensively and supported the likes of Greta Van Fleet, Highly Suspect and Royal Blood, Welles is bringing his stories of hope to Australian audiences next year.
