Falling in love with music after listening to the soundtrack for Kurt Russell’s Elvis movie, JD Fortune held many different jobs during his early years, including performing as an Elvis impersonator, as he tried to break through into the entertainment world.
Living in his car at the time he auditioned for Rock Star, Fortune made it to the final and was crowned the winner, becoming the new lead singer of INXS. Fortune and the remaining INXS members toured the globe several times and released one album, Switch (2005), before Fortune’s love of the rockstar life impacted his relationship with the other members.
After rumours swirled that Fortune had been let go by the band in 2009, he was confirmed as INXS’ lead vocalist in 2010 and continued to perform with the band until being officially fired in 2011.
Over the last 15 years, Fortune has released several albums and continued to tour, with INXS fans in for a treat when he touches down in Australia later this year.
