Australian singer-songwriter James Reyne is embarking on a national tour in 2026 to celebrate 40 years since the end of his band, Australian Crawl.
The Fall of Crawl Tour will see Reyne going back to the beginning of his career and performing songs from all four Australian Crawl albums, including hits ‘The Boys Light Up’, ‘Downhearted’, ‘Errol’, ‘Shut Down’, ‘Reckless (Don’t Be So)’ and many more.
Joining Reyne on the road are fellow Aussie greats Boom Crash Opera, who released their first single in 28 years, ‘Latest Hustle’, earlier this year.
Reyne’s Fall of Crawl Tour begins with four shows in New South Wales at Brunswick Heads’ Hotel Brunswick on Friday 6 February, Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Beach House on Saturday 7 February, Penrith’s Evans Theatre on Friday 27 February and Enmore’s Enmore Theatre on Saturday 28 February.
The tour then hits Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday 6 March, Bellarine’s Bellarine Estate on Sunday 8 March, Red Hill’s Red Hill Auditorium on Saturday 21 March, before wrapping up at Brisbane’s Eatons Hill Hotel on Friday 27 March.

Australian Crawl were one of the most successful acts of the late ‘70s/early ‘80s Aussie rock scene. Founded in Melbourne in 1978, the original lineup consisted of James Reyne (lead vocals/piano/harmonica), Brad Robinson (rhythm guitar), Paul Williams (bass), Simon Binks (lead guitar) and David Reyne (drums).
While lineup changes were frequent throughout the band’s eight years together, this didn’t stop them from topping the ARIA Albums Chart twice with records Sirocco and Sons of Beaches and releasing a slew of hit singles.
Sadly it all came to an end in 1986 with the release of Australian Crawl’s fourth and final album, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, which was a commercial and critical failure.
Realising they had come as far as they could as a band, Crawl set off on one final tour before going their separate ways.
Reyne formed the Company of Strangers and embarked on a hugely successful solo career, resulting in 14 studio albums, including his 1987 self-titled debut, which is regarded as an Australian classic.
Reyne’s upcoming Fall of Crawl Tour acts as both a tribute to his first band and an opportunity for longtime fans to hear Australian Crawl’s biggest hits performed live one more time.
Catch James Reyne at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday 6 March. Tickets on sale via jamesreyne.com.au.
