Experience Gold Coast Festival Director Mark Duckworth said it’s always exciting to release another round of artists for the festival each year and see the collection of talent that we built for its milestone 25th anniversary.
“Blues on Broadbeach has always been about bringing incredible live music to the heart of Broadbeach, and this next wave of artists continues that tradition,” Mr Duckworth said.
“Artists like MonoNeon and Grace Cummings will be a real treat for audiences, alongside festival favourite Ian Moss. It’s just another layer of icing on the cake as we celebrate the festival’s 25th birthday.”
Member for Mermaid Beach, Ray Stevens MP, said the quality of local and international talent secured in the latest Blues on Broadbeach artist announcement was a testament to the festival's success ahead of its landmark 25th anniversary staging.
“Blues on Broadbeach is set to deliver an unforgettable experience and this next lineup announcement builds even more excitement for May,” Mr Stevens said.
“It’s fantastic to see the program continue to grow in scale and calibre, reinforcing the Gold Coast and Queensland as a premier destination for major events and giving music lovers the perfect reason to plan a trip to Queensland for this milestone.
“With an estimated 13,500 visitors travelling to Queensland specifically for the festival and a projected $33 million economic boost, Blues on Broadbeach showcases the role major events play in driving tourism and supporting local businesses.”
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said, “It’s time to get a little blues into your life and what a way to do it than watching Ian Moss own the stage.”
“Mossy’s presence at this year’s Blues further cements our reputation as the best blues festival in the southern hemisphere. Make a date with Mossy at Broadbeach – it’s free, it’s for families and it’s world-class. See you there.’’
