Emerging singer-songwriter Holly Hebe is in her new ear. After returning in February with her pulsating pop ditty ‘Swimsuit’, the Melbourne artist has shared her second new song of 2025, ‘Birthmark’.
Produced by Alice Ivey (Mallrat, Boo Seeka, Sycco), the track continues Hebe’s evolution as a songwriter as she immerses herself in the world of indie pop. ‘Birthmark’ is a song about heartbreak with a polished hook and personal lyrics.
“‘Birthmark’ is about the tragedy of craving the familiarity and deep understanding of a person that you once held close,” explains Hebe.
“It’s about the cycle of being tethered to someone, the heartbreak of still knowing them so intimately after a breakup, and the relapse of your healing and ability to move on. Birthmark tells the story of being unable to break this habit, and constantly being thrown back into the depths of heartbreak each time you tempt an old comfort zone.”

Following the release of ‘Swimsuit’, which earned a triple j first play on Drive and landed on 13 major editorial playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, YouTube, and TIDAL, Hebe is gearing up for a massive 2026.
Receiving widespread support from radio and online press, she’s taken to the stage at some of the biggest festivals, including SXSW Austin, SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, Beyond The Valley, and the Australian Open, and shared stages with Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Holly Humberstone, The Dreggs and Keli Holiday. She has also sold out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, which is super impressive.
As she continues to work on new music, Hebe is also building toward yet another national support run, with an EP or album hopefully in the works.
