theurghy hc – ‘moulded by the spiral'
Psychology Today states that spiralling “is a repetitive focus on negative thoughts that can worsen anxiety and depression”. Could you imagine a soundtrack to this anguish? Adelaide’s deathened metalcore quintet Theurgy have executed this concept profoundly. Blending Serration’s metallic madness with the prog-metalcore of Misery Signals, Theurgy have crafted a chaotic illustration of a crippling mental health episode. “I’ve become moulded by the spiral”, vocalist Louie Workman bellows over colossal dissonant breakdowns – “spiralling” has undeniably been, devastatingly depicted.
