South Australia’s boutique Handpicked Festival keeps on kicking goals, with the 2025 edition the biggest in the festival’s 11-year history!
Taking place at Lake Breeze Wines in Langhorne Creek on Saturday, November 8, this year’s event is headlined by ARIA-winning hip hop trio Hilltop Hoods. Gearing up for the release of their eighth studio album, the local legends are taking to the stage at Handpicked Festival for the very first time, performing their biggest hits, including ‘Nose Bleed Section’, ‘1955’ and ‘I Love It’, alongside recent singles ‘Don’t Happy, Be Worry’ and ‘The Gift’.
“Handpicked Fans can expect nothing less than a high-energy, electrifying set that will leave them buzzing,” says founder Kate Cooper.
The lineup also includes a plethora of awesome Aussie talent, with singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Xavier Rudd, indie rockers The Rubens, soulful singer-songwriter Meg Mac and party starter Hot Dub Time Machine, otherwise known as Sydney DJ Tom Lowndes, all performing on the day.
Rounding out Handpicked are emerging bedroom pop artist Mia Wray, who is flying high after the release of her debut album, Hi, It’s Nice To Meet Me, powerful singer-songwriter Marlon, and teenage sensation Lotte Gallagher.
“Handpicked is where boutique meets festival, think world-class live music, incredible wines, curated food and stunning scenery, all in an intimate, friendly setting. No chaos, no stress, just pure magic,” Cooper adds.

After attracting over 7,500 people last year, Handpicked are encouraging festivalgoers to spend the entire weekend enjoying the Langhorne Creek wine region with the introduction of ‘Wine Down Weekend’.
“Instead of just coming for the day, we want people to arrive early, explore Langhorne Creek, and indulge in the region’s best food, wine, and hospitality,” explains Kate.
“We hope to showcase more local wineries, restaurants, and accommodation providers. Handpicked has always been about more than just music. This initiative deepens the experience while driving real economic benefits for local businesses.”
Along with showcasing Australia’s best musical artists, Handpicked offers top-notch food and beverage options (plenty of bottles of Lake Breeze Wines to go around) and a marketplace selling everything from handmade goods to vintage wares.
Those who don’t want to drive can roll out the swap and sleep under the stars in Tent City, a short walk from the festival grounds, or book a room in any number of hotels, bed and breakfasts or Airbnbs operating in the local area.
