Metal fans, your prayers to the unholy have been answered. Swedish power metal pioneers HammerFall are finally heading our way in 2025 for their first ever Australian tour.
While they did perform a one-off show in Melbourne in 2015, this will be HammerFall’s first official tour of the county. The band behind metal classics ‘Blood Bound’, ‘Hail to the King’, ‘Natural High’ and more have announced five dates, with the riff-heavy Swedes rocking venues in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Syndey and Brisbane during January next year.
“We all agreed that one measly show in 27 years is not nearly enough,” says founding guitarist Oscar Dronjak. “So we’re coming in full force next year. Brace yourselves for a Heavy Metal celebration the likes of which you have never seen!”
Lead vocalist Joacim Cans adds: “We are very excited to bring our particular brand of Heavy Metal to Australia for the first time, and we can’t wait to show you what HammerFall Anno 2025 sounds like!”
Tickets for HammerFall’s 2025 Australian tour are on sale this Thursday, June 15 at 8:30am via The Phoenix.
Forming in Gothenburg in 1993, HammerFall released their debut album Glory To The Brave four years later. Gaining moderate success amongst the Swedish metal community, it was 2000’s Renegade that saw the band go global.
All but two of the band’s 12 albums have made the Swedish Album Chart top ten, with Renegade, Threshold, (r)Evolution all storming to the top of the charts. Their much hyped thirteenth album, Avenge the Fallen, arrives in August, so fans will have plenty of time to familiarise themselves with the band’s new songs before they touch down in the country.
With over 100 million streams and 100 million YouTube views, HammerFall’s popularity is unmatched, but it’s in the live setting where the band thrives. Local audiences finally get the chance to see why HammerFall are so highly regarded when they bring their power drenched anthems to venues across the country next year.
Tickets for HammerFall’s Adelaide show at Lion Arts Factory go on sale Thursday, June 15 at 8:30am via The Phoenix.
