Embarking on his first solo tour in 15 years, Augie March founder, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Glenn Richards has announced 11 dates across the country.
Taking to social media to announce the tour, which takes in five states, Richards also revealed he’s working on a new album.
“Recording an album and touring simultaneously after long periods of dormancy is my kink, so get in and see me dissect the songs from all the stupid albums,” Richards posted. “Some dates and ticket links still to be added, but the gist is I get on a plane and go to places we haven’t been in a long time and find out if there’s anyone still out there for it, reconnoitre like. Hoping so, really looking forward to seeing you. xg.”
Richards’ tour kicks off in Mapleton at Mapleton Public House on Saturday 18 October and continues with shows at Brisbane’s The Brightside (Sunday 19 October), Fremantle’s The Duke of George (Thursday 23 October), Perth’s Four6Nine (Friday 24 October), Adelaide’s Grace Emily Hotel (Saturday 25 October), Frankston’s Young Street Tavern (Thursday 30 October) and Archies Creek’s Archies Creek Hotel (Friday 31 October).
The tour wraps up in November with four shows at Melbourne’s John Curtin Hotel (Saturday 8 November), Avoca Beach’s Acova Beach Theatre (Thursday 13 November), Sydney’s Botany View Hotel (Saturday 15 November) and Gundaroo’s Tallagandra Hill Winery on Sunday 16 November.

Glenn Richards formed indie rockers Augie March way back in 1996 with fellow musos Adam Donovan (lead guitar), Edmondo Ammendola (bass), David Williams (drums) and Robert Dawson (keyboards), who sadly passed away in 2001 and was replaced by Kiernan Box.
The ARIA Award-winning band have released eight albums, with their most recent being last year’s Malagrotta. Although the chart success of Augie March’s earlier work has eluded them in recent years, they are much loved by Aussie audiences.
As a solo artist, Richards has released two albums, Glimjack (2010) and FIBATTY! (2020), and is currently working on his third.
