Legendary Aussie punk rockers Cosmic Psychos are readying the release of their twelfth studio album, I Like Beer (pre-save/pre-add here).

Hooking up with producer Paul Maybury, the album was recorded at Secret Location Studios and is classic Cosmic Psychos – chock full of rattling riffs and hilarious lyrics.

The album’s first single, ‘I Like Beer’, does what it says on the can, with the track vocalist and bassist Ross Knight’s ode to the amber liquid. Accompanying the release is a music video directed by Anthony Hayes that shows Knight and guitarist John McKeering indulging in their love of beer.

To mark the album release, Cosmic Psychos have announced a massive 40-date regional tour performing in pubs, halls and RSL clubs across the nation.

The band will be joined on drums by Dan Peters (Mudhoney, Nirvana) for the first leg of the tour, followed by Dune Rats’ BC for the second stretch.

“We made a record about beer, so now we’re going to play it in as many pubs as possible. Simple,” says Knight.

Sadly, the lads aren’t making the trip to Adelaide, with Cosmic Psycho fans needing to travel interstate to catch the band. The tour kicks off on Friday 7 November at Singing Bird in Frankston and takes in five states and territories across almost four months before coming to an end in Tassie on Saturday 14 February at Hobart’s Altar.

Tickets for the I Really Like Beer Tour are on sale now via cosmicpsychos.com.au.

If a new album and tour aren’t enough to get people excited, Knighty has also launched the weekly podcast, How Ya Goin? (with Dr Knighty). The podcast features honest convos with a range of Aussie artists, with season one guests including Eamon Sandwith (The Chats), Donita Sparks (L7), Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Scarlet McKahey (Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers).

Forming over 40 years ago, Cosmic Psychos are one of the country’s most revered punk acts. The band have gone through multiple lineup changes over the years and released 11 albums, with their most recent being 2021’s Mountain of Piss, which received great reviews from critics.

Cosmic Psychos’ I Really Like Beer tour runs from November 2025 to February 2026. Tickets on sale now via cosmicpsychos.com.au. I Really Like Beer arrives Friday November 7. Pre-save/pre-add here.
