Country folk singer-songwriter Fanny Lumsden, who is embarking on her first-ever headline national tour across February next year, has announced an Australian-wide competition to find local supports in each city she plays.
Entry is easy. All you have to do is upload a video performance of one song on the Fanny Lumsden/Destroy All Lines socials, and Fanny will personally judge the entrants and handpick the tour supports, with the artists to be drawn on Wednesday 17 December. Enter here.
Supporting developing local artists is a cause close to Fanny’s heart. “Playing live is what has built my entire career, from country halls tour, to Glastonbury and everything in between, so getting to hear other incredible artists do their thing and share the stage with them is such an inspiring part of the job for me,” she explains. “Australia is honestly bursting with talent at the moment, so I think there’s no better time to share the love, both for us as artists and with the audiences.”
The multi-award-winning artist will be joined on tour by her band The Prawn Stars as she performs tracks from across her four-album discography, along with new single ‘Look at Me Now’.
Lumsden’s national tour begins in Perth at the Rosemount Hotel on Friday 6 February before hitting Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Saturday 7 February, Melbourne’s Thornbury Theatre on Friday 13 February, Brisbane’s The Triffid on Saturday 14 February, Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Friday 20 February and Canberra’s UC Hub on Saturday 21 February.
