As the hype for DZ Deathray’s upcoming Easing Out of Control (pre-order/pre-save here) continues, the Brizzy lads have shared their latest single, ‘Pissing in the Breeze’.
Following the release of tracks ‘First Night Fever’, ‘Like No Other’, ‘Sideways’, ‘Real Love’ and ‘Skyline’, DZ’s latest has a bit of Death From Above 1979 about it, mixing hard rock with electronic influences.
“This song was one of the first songs we wrote towards this project,” shares DZ Deathrays’ vocalist and guitarist Shane Parsons. “It's a robotic, punchy, fast-driven song that borrows electronic elements with glitchy loops propelling it forward the entire way through.
“Lyrically this track is all about the destruction of the planet and the failed attempts and backwards steps we take as humanity to try to correct the issues. It was a song that originally stayed really static and we added the bridge chord progression to open up the song and while jamming with Luke Henery (Bass), he came up with the monster ending.”
Easing Out of Control arrives Friday 16 January 2026, and was originally envisioned by the band as two EPs. While recording the album at the band’s home studio, they decided to release it as a single album.
The track is accompanied by an awesome music video by Rhys Bennett that’s part 8-bit video game, part performance piece. Check it out below.
