Birds of Tokyo Share New Single ‘Starlights’, Announce National Tour
The Perth rockers are sadly missing Adelaide on their 2026 tour.

Perth prog-rockers Birds of Tokyo are back with brand new single, ‘Starlights’, a song guitarist Adam Spark said took the band “almost five years to build”.
Adds singer Ian Kenny, “We spent ages trying to understand what this song was meant to be - we just couldn’t force it.”
The song has been picked to soundtrack The Starlight Foundation’s new campaign Streamas, which uses special online appearances to raise funds for the charity. To kick off the campaign, Birds of Tokyo will perform ‘Starlights’ on social media and YouTube. For full details on how to access the stream, visit birdsoftokyo.com.
All five members of Birds of Tokyo have children, so being involved with an organisation like Starlight Foundation is close to their hearts.
“There’s something beautifully meta about all this”, Adam Spark reflects. “After half a decade of experimentation, we ultimately ended up with a song that's about letting go of your fears and seizing the day so, as things have turned out, we couldn’t have come up with a better soundtrack for The Starlight Foundation if we had tried.”

In support of their new release, Birds of Tokyo have announced a national tour, although sadly Adelaide has been missed.
The tour kicks off with six dates in New South Wales in Brunswick Heads, Coffs Harbour, Elizabeth Bay, Bahurst, Northern Beaches and Sydney Southern Shire. Birds of Tokyo then play the Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Lake Macquarie, Albury and Frankston.
