Dream Theater Bring 40th Anniversary Tour To Australia
This marks Dream Theater’s first tour of Australia since the return of OG drummer Mike Portnoy, who will be joined by vocalist James LaBrie, bassist John Myung, guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of American prog metal act Dream Theater, and to celebrate, the band have been touring the globe performing their biggest tracks.
Now the Grammy-winning act are bringing their An Evening With Dream Theater 40th Anniversary Tour to Australia, with Dream Theater locking five dates next February.
This will be Dream Theater’s first tour of Australia since the return of OG drummer Mike Portnoy, who will be joined by vocalist James LaBrie, bassist John Myung, guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
“The excitement we have felt from the fans since the first leg of this tour was announced has been overwhelming! Now we get to bring the show to our fans all across the world, and play a bunch of cities that we haven’t been together in for more than a decade,” the band said in a statement.
“We can’t wait to continue this historic celebration of 40 years together with everyone in Asia and Australia next year. We still have plenty of more exciting Dream Theater news to share in the coming weeks.”
Dream Theater’s An Evening With Dream Theater 40th Anniversary Tour begins in Adelaide at Hindley Street Music Hall on Tuesday 10 February and continues with dates at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Thursday 12 February, Sydney’s ICC Sydney Theatre on Saturday 14 February and Brisbane’s Fortitiude Music Hall on Sunday 15 February.

Dream Theater is one, if not the biggest, prog-metal band going around. Across a career spanning 40 years the band have sold millions of records worldwide, garnered billions of streams and helped shape the progressive metal genre.
The band have released 16 albums, with their classic sophomore album Images and Words certified Gold in America, Holland and Japan, won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance for their song ‘The Alien’ from 2021’s A View From The Top of the World and performed sold-out headline tours across the globe.
Returning to their roots with Portnoy returning to the fold, these five old friends are ready to entertain the masses with songs from their stacked back catalogue while also treating them to tracks from their latest release, this year’s Parasomnia, which represents the band’s past and their future.
