The freewheeling DOPE LEMON, the alter ego of Aussie muso Angus Stone, has revealed his new album, Golden Wolf, is dropping May 9 via BMG (pre-save/pre-order here).
The fifth long player under his DOPE LEMON moniker is an introspective record merging indie rock with psychedelic soul, featuring Stone’s heartfelt and honest lyrics.
Unlike his previous album, Kimosabè, which focused on Stone’s youth and his path to stardom, Golden Wolf looks to the future and explores the questions Stone is asking himself as he gets older.
Along with announcing his new LP, DOPE LEMON has shared the album’s second single, ‘Electric Green Lambo’. Following the release of last year’s ‘Golden Wolf’, a foot-tapping indie wonder with psych-pop elements, ‘Electric Green Lambo’ is another belter of a tune with a soothing groove perfect for soundtracking those intimate evenings with your significant other.
Speaking about the song, Stone says, “‘Electric Green Lambo’ is like stepping into a lucid dream — part reckless adventure, part hazy nostalgia. It’s about chasing untamed energy, getting lost in neon and smoke, and breaking free from what holds you back. There’s this tension between wild freedom and the pull of something darker. It’s raw, dripping with mood, and, like the ride itself, unapologetically slick. Buckle up.”
