Donald Glover has unveiled the first trailer for his upcoming feature film, Bando Stone & the New World, as well as his new single, ‘Lithonia’.
While there is no release date or synopsis for Bando Stone & the New World, the trailer shows Glover playing a famous musician called Bando Stone, who just happens to find himself in a world devoid of people. When he encounters a mother and her daughter while out shopping, he discovers the world around him is not what it seems.
The trailer combines horror and science fiction elements with a healthy dose of humour as Glover’s Stone struggles to survive thanks to his lack of skills. Check out the trailer below.

Along with writing, directing and starring in the film, Glover has also recorded the soundtrack under his alias Childish Gambino. This will be Gambino’s sixth and final release, with the rapper also sharing the album’s first single, ‘Lithonia’.
Co-produced by Glover and hitmakers Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, and Michael Uzowuru, ‘Lithonia’ has an early 00s indie vibe, with Glover singing instead of rapping over a cracking guitar riff. You can listen to the song below.
The release of Glover’s new film and album comes ahead of his final world tour as Childish Gambino. ‘The New World Tour’ includes six shows in Australia, with the entertainer playing shows in Brisbane, Syndey, Melbourne and Perth.
The soundtrack to Bando Stone & the New World will be released on July 19. Tickets for Childish Gambino’s Australian tour are available via Frontier Touring.
