Following the release of singles ‘Heaven’ and ‘Still Yours’ earlier this year, Sydney-born Los Angeles-based rap superstar The Kid LAROI has dropped his third song for the year, ‘Girls’.
Not to be confused with Dom Dolla’s recently released ‘girl$’, The Kid LAROI’s latest offering is an upbeat hip hop tune with the rapper using a Jack Harlow-esque flow. The track is about having fun in a relationship, with LAROI rapping “Girls just wanna dance / Girls just wanna have fun / I don’t know your plans / I just wanna, get some.”
Co-written and produced by heavy hitters Jon Bellion (Jonas Brothers, Halsey, Justin Bieber), Pete Nappi (The Veronicas, 30 Seconds To Mars), Rogét Chahayed (Travis Scott, Miguel) and Tenroc (Tory Lanez, Jonas Brothers), many believe the song is about LAROI’s new girlfriend, pop star Tate McRae, along with being a dig at her ex, hockey player Cole Sillinger.

The accompanying music video, directed by Bradley J. Calder (SZA, Justin Timberlake), stars The Kid LAROI alongside TikTok star Alix Earle. Several other famous faces make cameos in the clip, including Livvy Dunne, Valkyrae, Lily Chee, and Tianna Robillard.
To help promote the single, LAROI has teamed with Los Angeles-based grocery retailer Erewhon to create his own ‘Girls’ smoothie, with proceeds from all sales going towards the Laroi Foundation, an organisation helping underserved youth in Australia and America.
The Kid LAROI is currently touring the States and preparing to enter the studio to record the follow-up to his 2023 debut album, The First Time.
