DEM MOB Reveals First Shows for 2025
The hip hop collective are playing two free shows in Adelaide this month.

Hailing from the APY Lands, Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara hip hop group DEM MOB have announced their first live shows for 2025.
Jontae Lawrie, Elisha Umuhuri, Matt Gully and recent addition Basso Edward took to Instagram to reveal the shows, commenting: “We ready to DIP! Heres some dates you can catch us during our first tour of the year! Let's go, starting this week in SA!”
DEM MOB kicks things off in Adelaide this Friday, March 14, at Tandanya, the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, as part of the centre’s free pop-up music nights lineup.
The lads then head to Port Augusta on Saturday, March 15 for a gig at The Barracks before returning to Adelaide for another free show at Tandanya on Saturday, March 22. DEM MOB then make their way to Alice Springs for the Parrtjima Festival on Friday, April 11. The final two dates are Tallarook’s Sonder Festival on Sunday, April 20 and Hunter Valley’s The Gumball Festival on Friday, April 25.

Beginning as a school project, DEM MOB has transformed into a musical force with a mission to empower the youth through a combination of culture and music.
The first group to rap in the Pitjantjatjara language, DEM MOB have performed at WOMAD and all across Australia. The group was handpicked to perform at Barcelona’s Primavera Pro in 2023, leading to a showcase at BIGSOUND and their first concerts across America and Canada in 2024.
The group won an incredible five gongs at the 2023 SA Music Awards and have released a string of engaging singles, including ‘Soul of the Lion’ and last year’s ‘DIP’ and ‘I’ll Get By’.

The annual Cali festival’s bill also includes performances from the xx, The Strokes, David Byrne, Little Simz, Devo and more.
