Ahead of their September Australian tour, Dead Kennedys have announced the local support acts sharing the stage with them at each show.

Performing with the Dead Kennedys on their Give Me Dystopia or Give Me Death Tour are Mannequin Death Squad (Melbourne), HIPPO (Brisbane), Last Quokka (Perth), LOLA (Adelaide) and Boudicca (Sydney).

Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide are now sold out, with only a handful of tickets left for the shows at Brisbane’s Tivoli on Saturday 20 September and Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday 24 September.

Fans can expect to hear all the band’s biggest tunes when Dead Kennedys roll into your town, including ‘Holiday in Cambodia’, ‘California Über Alles’, ‘Kill the Poor’ and many more.

Tickets for the Brisbane and Perth gigs are on sale now via sbmpresents.com.

Formed in San Francisco in 1978, Dead Kennedys are one of the most celebrated acts to come out of the American punk scene.

For eight years, Dead Kennedys propelled the punk movement forward with their socially and politically charged songs addressing everything from class and race to war and poverty. Not only did they speak for the minority, but their blistering, head-exploding burst of noise rock left punk and hardcore fans across the world in awe.

Disbanding in 1986 before the release of their fourth and final album, Bedtime for Democracy, Dead Kennedys reformed in 2001 and have continued to tour on and off over the past 24 years.

The Dead Kennedys have gone through several lineup changes over the years, with the current iteration consisting of original members East Bay Ray (guitar) and Klaus Flouride (bass), alongside Ron “Skip” Greer (vocals) and Steve Wilson (drums).

Catch Dead Kennedys at The Gov on Friday, September 26. For ticketing details, visit sbmpresents.com.
