CYRIL and James Blunt Collaborate on New Single ‘Tears Dry Tonight’

Aussie producer CYRIL has released his first solo tune ‘Tears Dry Tonight’ – a collaboration with UK singer James Blunt.
CYRIL (real name Cyril Riley) has been teasing the track on socials for the past fortnight, with one Instagram post reading: “These past few days have been incredible.. Can’t wait to have this new song out with @jamesblunt & show the world that I can actually make original music.”
The unlikely collaboration sounds a lot like some of Tom Odell’s recent work and plays to the strengths of both artists, with CYRIL crafting a warm house beat for Blunt’s familiar yet understated vocals.

Originally from Darwin, CYRIL blew up in 2023 with the release of ‘Stumblin’ In’, a house remix of the 1978 hit by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro. The track went viral on TikTok and helped CYRIL sign a deal with Spinnin’ Records.
He’s since gone on to release a remix of Disturbed’s ‘The Sound of Silence’, originally a hit by Simon & Garfunkel, and Crowded House’s ‘Fall At Your Feet’ with fellow Aussie Dean Lewis, along with collaborating with Robin Schulz on ‘World Gone Wild’ and maryjo on ‘Still Into You’.
Meanwhile, James Blunt has spent the past 12 months celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Back To Bedlam. After performing in Australia last year, the divisive figure is heading back our way in October for a run of shows performing Back To Bedlam in its entirety.

‘Life Is Long’ is Bromham’s first release since 2024’s ‘Adulthood’.
