Aussie synth-pop legends Cut Copy are back! Five years on since the release of their sixth studio album, Freeze, Melt, the group returns with the vibrant single ‘Solid’.
The track is everything you could want and more from a Cut Copy release – sparkling synths, tropical beats and Dan Whitford’s familiar laidback vocal delivery.
“I wrote the song as a reminder to myself that things will be ok, even when life gets turned on its head and it feels like there’s no way forward,” Whitford said in a statement.
“I hope in some small way it gives other people a little nudge forward in the direction of their dreams. Hang in there… We’ll be solid.”
The lads also shared B-side ‘A Decade Long Sunset’, an ethereal season changer with hints of old school Chemical Brothers.
Both songs were recorded at the iconic Svenska Grammofon Studion in Gothenburg, Sweden, using the same Neve console used by Brian Eno, David Bowie, Queen, and The Rolling Stones, and are available as a limited-edition, double-sided 12” vinyl (pre-order here).
