Singer-songwriter Simon Bonney started Crime & the City Solution in 1977 before disbanding the group two years later after relocating to Melbourne.
Bonney moved to London in 1983 and started a new version of the band that survived for almost a decade and included Rowland S. Howard on guitar, before Bonney moved to Berlin and formed another incarnation of Crime & the City Solution that eventually ended in 1991 after he went solo and moved to LA.
Crime & the City Solution was resurrected once again in Detroit in 2012 for several years before Bonney got the current lineup together in Berlin in 2023, leading to the release of the band’s sixth album, the killer.
Released by Mute Records, the killer is the first album from Crime & the City Solution in over a decade. Recorded in Berlin with producer Martin J. Fiedler, marking the first time the band had used an outside producer, the killer was critically acclaimed, with the band excited to perform tracks from the release for their Aussie fans next year.
