Adelaide favourites Coldwave was responsible for one of the best releases of last year. Their debut EP, Same Window, Different House, is a distorted post-punk fist to the face that kicked off a big 2023 for the six-piece collective.
Not only was the EP well received, but the band were named triple j’s Unearthed Feature Artist in February, got added to the Laneway lineup alongside Fontaines D.C., one of their influences, and performed a riotous set at the Crown & Anchor for their EP launch party.
One year on from the EP’s release, Same Window, Different House is coming to vinyl. The legends at Clarity Records and PAK Records have come together to release a limited pressing of 150 copies on 180 gram white vinyl.
Coldwave had plans to release the EP on vinyl, but after Clarity Records owner Footy gave the five-track release a whirl, he knew it needed a vinyl release.
“After I heard it I liked it so much and believed that it deserved a physical release,” Footy told us over email. “After approaching the band and PAK about it they all loved the idea and felt the same, so we made it happen.”
Coldwave will play a special show at Clarity Records to celebrate the vinyl release on Friday, April 26. This will be a free gig and any copies of the EP that have not been sold via pre-order will be available in-store.
