Just over two weeks out from the release of Chet Faker’s highly anticipated new album, A Love For Strangers (out Friday 13 February via BMG), the singer-songwriter has shared new single ‘Over You’.
The opening track to his new album follows the previously released singles ‘Far Side of the Moon’, ‘Inefficent Love’, ‘This Time For Real’ and ‘Can You Swim?’, and explores the breakdown of a relationship, with Faker’s soothing vocals floating over the downtempo beat.
The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Jesse Cain and Faker, aka Nick Murphy, that finds the creative riding in the back of a pickup across the American desert.
To celebrate the release of his third album under the Chet Faker moniker, Murphy is performing shows across Australia, Europe and North America from February to July.
The Australian leg of the tour begins in Adelaide at the new festival A Day In The Gully on Saturday 28 February. Dates follow at Melbourne’s Riviera Beach Club on Sunday 1 March, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday 3 March, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 4 March and Perth’s Ice Cream Factory on Friday 6 March.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now at chetfaker.com.
