After several years of radio silence, Chet Faker, aka Nick Murphy, is back with new single, ‘Far Side of the Moon’.
The first taste of music since Faker’s 2023 release ‘Something Like This’ is a soulful, mellow pop number addressing an emotional breakdown.
“It’s about stretching yourself too thin for someone you love to the point where it’s not healthy for the relationship at all,” says Faker.
The arrival of ‘Far Side of the Moon’ after Faker announced a second show in London HERE at Outernet in October, after selling out the first gig.

A mainstay of the Aussie music scene for almost 15 years, Faker broke through in 2012 with the release of his debut EP, Thinking In Textures, which included his viral cover of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’.
Known for continually pushing the boundaries of musical genres, Faker’s first album, 2014’s Built on Glass, topped the ARIA Album Chart and earned him five ARIA Awards, including Best Independent Release and Best Male Artist.
Faker has continued to release music at a consistent rate over the years as both his alias Chet Faker and real name Nick Murphy, along with stacking up collaborations with the likes of Flume and Marcus Marr.
