AFLW fans are in for a treat this month, with the league teaming up with hardware giants Bunnings for a series of post-game gigs.
Taking place in Adelaide and Sydney this month, Bunnings Afters keeps the good times rolling after games with a pop-up stage showcasing local musicians. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a Bunnings sausage sizzle, and there will also be exclusive AFWL merch on offer for fans.
The exclusive series begins in Round 9 at Adelaide’s Norwood Oval on Saturday 11 October, where hometown side the Adelaide Crows take on the West Coast Eagles, with entertainment provided by soon-to-be global pop superstar aleksiah alongside soulful rockers act The Sundials.
The second edition of Bunnings Afters takes over Sydney’s Henson Park for Round 11 on Saturday 25 October, which sees the Sydney Swans take on the West Coast Eagles, with emerging indie pop artist ixaras and multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter MYMA taking to the stage.
Bunnings Afters not only champions Australian music and the game of AFLW, but also aims to raise funds for Headspace, Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, with proceeds from the sausage sizzle and merch sales going towards the important charity.

“Bunnings Afters will transform AFLW games into ultimate post-match parties, uniting fans through live local music and this iconic Aussie game,” said Bunnings Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Melissa O’Neill.
“As women’s footy continues to surge, we’re proud to help grow AFLW crowds while shining a spotlight on emerging artists and grassroots talent.”
South Aussie superstar aleksiah is super excited to be involved in Bunnings Afters. “It’s incredible to see two Australian powerhouses in Bunnings and the AFLW backing homegrown musicians and I’m excited to open the first event in my hometown before embarking on my European tour in November,” said aleksiah.
“Performing at Norwood Oval will be special - I can’t wait for both my fans and AFLW fans to get behind it,” she added.
Bunnings Afters takes place in Round 9 in Adelaide on Saturday 11 October and Round 11 in Sydney on Saturday 25 October. Tickets start from $15.00, with under-18s free to attend. For more info, visit bunnings.com.au.
