Speculation regarding the release of Bring Me the Horizon’s Post Human: NeX GEn has been bubbling over in recent months, and the band seems to have listened, surprise dropping the album overnight.
Originally set for release in September 2023, the album was pushed back due to “unforeseen circumstances.” At the time, vocalist Oli Sykes took to social media to explain the delay.
“So I got some bad news… nex gen won’t be coming September 15th. Unforeseen circumstances rendered us unable to complete the record to the standard we’d be happy with.
“I was hoping despite the setbacks we could pull it off in time for you guys but there’s still so many little details I want to be perfect and until it’s nailed I’m just not willing to give to you guys.”
As the months dragged on without any word about the album, fans began to grow restless and wondered if the album would ever be released. It also didn’t help that keyboardist Jordan Fish left the band in December 2023 before Bring Me the Horizon embarked on their European tour in January and Australian tour in April.
Then out of the blue, the band took to X yesterday with a short video revealing Post Human: NeX GEn was releasing at midnight. The video (below) was accompanied by the caption: “BMTH invites you to Ascend!+ POST HUMAN: NeX GEn [out midnight 24.05]”.

Post Human: NeX GEn is the second in a series of four concept albums that were all originally planned to be released one after the other over 12 months. It’s unclear when the final two albums in the tetralogy will be released, but hopefully the wait won’t be another four years.
Despite only just being released, the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with rock Bible Kerrang! giving the record 4/5, with writer Nick Ruskell calling the album a “monster”
