Having sold out five of his upcoming eight shows on his 2026 Australian tour, Ben Folds has announced his support: singer, composer, and actress Lindsey Kraft.

The artist previously supported Ben Folds on his 2023 What Matters Most tour, where she performed songs from Love, Me, the musical that she wrote.

“I never would have thought that after a stint studying abroad at UNSW for a semester in 2001, that I’d be back as a singer-songwriter sharing my songs with beautiful Australia. I am beyond thrilled for this opportunity. Ben Folds’ fans are the best fans in the world!” Lindsey Kraft said in a statement.

Ben Folds returns to Australia in 2026 with his new tour, Ben Folds & A Piano. The former Adelaide resident will perform songs from his extensive catalogue that spans more than three decades. Expect classics like ‘Brick’ and ‘Army’ from his time with Ben Folds Five alongside his solo hits such as ‘Rockin’ the Suburbs’ and ‘The Luckiest’. Ben Folds will also share stories with the audience about his time in the business.

Kicking off the Ben Folds & A Piano tour at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Wednesday 18 February. He then plays two New South Wales shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday 20 February and Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre on Saturday 21 February.

The tour continues with gigs at Canberra Theatre Centre on Sunday 22 February, Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide on Tuesday 24 February, Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Thursday 26 February and Ulumbarra Theatre in Bendigo on Friday 27 February, before Ben Folds heads west for a final show at Riverside Theatre in Perth on Sunday 1 March.

Getting his start performing with a variety of not-so-successful bands throughout the ‘80s and early ‘90s, Ben Folds struck gold as the frontman of alt-rockers Ben Folds Five.

The band released three albums in the ‘90s, including the highly praised Whatever and Ever Amen, which included the hit singles ‘Brick’ and ‘Battle of Who Could Care Less’.

Going solo in the ‘00s, Ben Folds has released five albums, his most recent being last year’s Sleigher, and worked with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras.

He served for eight years as the first-ever Artistic Advisor to the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, DC, before stepping down after Donald Trump announced his takeover of the Centre.

Ben Folds has also worked on movie and TV show soundtracks, written a New York Times Best Seller and launched the music education charity Keys For Kids in 2022.
