Kiwi rock duo Balu Brigada are making their Australian return this May and June in support of their acclaimed debut album, Portal.
Released in August last year, the album finds brothers Henry and Pierre Beasley pushing boundaries and establishing themselves as New Zealand’s next big thing. The 12-track record includes breakout singles ‘So Cold’, ‘Backseat’ and ‘What Do We Ever Really Know?’.
Portal has been well received by critics, with Rolling Stone Magazine ranking the album the 20th best release of 2025.
Balu Brigada’s tour of Australia begins in Brisbane at The Triffid on Thursday 28 May. The brothers then play Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Saturday 30 May, Perth’s Freo.Social on Sunday 31 May, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Thursday 4 June and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday 5 June.

Taking inspiration from a wide range of artists, Balu Brigada’s unqiue genre bending sound has seen the brotherly duo featured among SiriusXM’s Future Five of 2025 and Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artists To Watch.
Their EPs I Should Be Home and Find A Way laid the groundwork for their ascent, with 2023’s viral hit ‘Designer’ signalling their breakout moment.
Portal, the duo’s debut album, is an ambitious collection of songs, with i-D calling the lads “an actual band of brothers making tunes stacked with hooks that’ll run circles around your brain for days.”
