Ball Park Music guitarist Dean Hanson has gone solo, dropping his debut album Window Seat, Always, alongside the single ‘One More Day’ under the alias Zeano.
Pulling together song ideas he’s been working on for years, Hanson booked some studio time with Boy & Bear’s Tim Hart to flesh out his compositions. Over the course of ten days, Window Seat, Always was written and recorded, with the album delving into themes of love, loss and heartbreak.
The single ‘One More Day’ is a subtle, introspective release that gives listeners a taste of what to expect on Zeano’s ten-track debut. Speaking on the track, Hanson says that “‘One More Day’ is about what you would do if you knew it was the final day you ever had with someone you loved. It’s too easy to get caught up in the noise of life and forget about what really means the most to you.
“I wrote this song after I was doomscrolling and inevitably getting depressed. I thought about my dog who was outside alone, sleeping underneath the table. I didn’t want to waste any more time, knowing that one day he won’t be with me anymore. So, I threw my phone away, went outside and we played fetch together.”

Taking inspiration from the likes of Elliot Smith, Neutral Milk Hotel, Medium Build and The Go Betweens, the title of Zeano’s debut album is taken from Hanson’s fascination with observing, appreciating and finding his place in the world, explaining, “I always choose the window seat wherever I go. That way I can stare at the world outside and appreciate as much of it as I can, which of course includes the beauty and the pain.”
On releasing his debut album, he adds, “I’m so proud to introduce Zeano (Deano with a Z). I’ve always been obsessed with songwriting and aside from some credits across the Ball Park Music catalogue, most of the mountain of music I’ve written has been hidden away, stashed deep in my voice memos.
“At the beginning of 2025, I decided this was the year I’d put a voice to all these tunes I’d created. I reached out to my good friend Tim Hart (Boy & Bear) to see if he’d be up for producing my album, honestly thinking that he’d have better things to do, but within days we’d locked in what would become a dream collaboration.
“Amidst a hectic Ball Park Music touring schedule, Tim and I made the most of every opportunity to get into the studio and after a total of 10 sporadic days, we’d completed my debut album ‘Window Seat, Always’. I’m so proud of this body of work and I think it’s a perfect representation of my songs and what’s to come in the future for Zeano.”
