Prepare to dance the night away this October and November when Brazilian icons Azymuth and nu bossa star Sabrina Malheiros tour Australia.
Regarded as the “samba doido” pioneers, Azymuth have been moving people for more than five decades with their Brazilian jazz meets funk tunes.
Fellow Brazilian Sabrina Malheiros might not have been around as long as her tour mates, but the talented singer-songwriter is just as popular, with her nu bossa sound captivating audiences across the globe.
Together, Azymuth and Malheiros are touring the country, locking in five dates, starting in Adelaide at Lion Arts Factory on Wednesday 29 October. They then hit Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on Friday 31 October, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday 1 November and Brisbane’s The Triffid on Monday 3 November, with the final show taking place on Wednesday 5 November at Freo Social in Fremantle.

Last in Australia in 2022, Azymuth are most notable for pioneering the “samba doido” sound of the ‘70s – a unique fusion of jazz, funk and samba.
One of Brazil’s most influential acts, Azymuth have released over 30 records across their storied 50 year career. Earlier this year, they dropped Marca Passo, their first studio album since 2016.
Currently comprising sole original member Alex Malheiros (bass, guitar) alongside Kiko Continentino (keyboards) and Renato Calmon (drums), Azymuth are renowned for their vibrant live performances that have seen them perform on stages across the globe.
The daughter of Azymuth founding member Alex Malherios, this tour marks Sabrina Malheiros’s first trip Down Under. Discovering a passion for Brazillian music as a child, Sabrina has forged a career that includes six albums, nine EPs and a host of collaborations.
One of Brazil’s most exicting and innovatie artists, Sabrina has perfomred at leading venues and festivals across Europe, Asia and South America, building a loyal audience.
