ReggaeFest is back this October with a ripper musical lineup headlined by The Joe Amputch Band for the third consecutive year.
Held over the October long weekend (Sunday 5 October), ReggaeFest Vol. 3 is a celebration of reggae music and Caribbean culture, with tickets on sale now via humanitix.com.
This year’s event has moved to a new venue – The Joiners Arms in Hindmarsh. The beer garden will be transformed into a rocking party with a state-of-the-art sound system, delicious Jamaican food and an aesthetically pleasing environment.
This year’s lineup features Fiji-born roots and blues maestro Joe Amputch and his talented band delivering the good vibes alongside local Adelaide seven-piece dub meets reggae collective Sub Magmatic and fellow Fijian Elena, who will perform a set of reggae, R&B and jazz songs.
Additionally, Ghanaian drummer Dada Nii will be putting on an interactive drum workshop while punk rockers Young Offenders will be on the decks spinning a vinyl reggae set influenced by British reggae culture. Spellman’s resident DJs will also play a selection of reggae, dub and dancehall tunes throughout the event.
When it comes to food, Jamaican expats behind the food truck Jamaican Mi Eat are catering the event, giving punters the chance to try some authentic Jamaican street food.
Organisers have one rule for the day – no bass = no reggae, so expect an incredible atmosphere.
