After a short break to pursue their own projects, the members of Aussie post-punk outfit Body Type are back together and ready to rock with new single ‘And What Else?’.
Released via Poison City Records (AU/NZ) and King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard’s p(doom) Records (UK/US/EU), ‘And What Else?’ is a rollicking guitar track with glorious ‘60s-esque harmonies exploring the pleasures and pitfalls of fishing for compliments.
Speaking about the track, vocalist and guitarist Annabel Blackman points to The Shangri-Las and Ivy and the Eater’s hit ‘Working Women’ as inspirations. “The big chorus is a cathartic cry out against feeling insecure in a relationship, those mental twists your brain makes when statements of adoration make you feel sceptical and unworthy, but simultaneously hungry for more of that sweet stuff,” says Blackman.
Accompanying the release is a music video of the four-piece performing the song, which you can check out below.

The release of ‘And What Else?’ coincides with the band’s upcoming headline shows at The Sydney Biennale on Friday 17 April and Melbourne’s Punters Club on Saturday 18 April, with more music on the horizon from the quartet.
