Fresh from the release of their acclaimed debut album, The Modern Shoe Is Ruining The Foot, Adelaide favourites Any Young Mechanic are hitting the road for a run of shows.

Recorded live without edits, Any Young Mechanic's first record includes the singles ‘Captain And Compass’, ‘Pretty Strange World’, ‘My House Divides’, ‘There’s A New Place On The Market’ and ‘Snug Barber’.

The indie folk outfit’s Allan McBean (upright bass) had this to say about the release, “From the clockwork propulsion of ‘Snug Barber’ to the unconfined, dissonant colours of ‘Barn Burning,’ these 12 tracks represent the range of sounds that excited us, live in a room together, nearly three years ago.”

The ensemble's national tour begins with showcase shows at BIGSOUND in Brisbane from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September. Any Young Mechanic then play a hometown show at The Grace Emily on Friday 11 September, followed by headline gigs at Melbourne's The Old Bar on Sunday 13 September and Sydney's The Vanguard on Thursday 1 October, wrapping the tour up with appearances at Wollongong's Yours & Owls festival on Sunday 4 October and Castlemaine's Town Folk Festival on Saturday 21 November.
