Animals As Leaders Announce ‘The Joy of Motion’ 10th Anniversary Australian Tour
The American instrumental act are playing The Joy of Motion in its entirety.

Washington prog rockers Animals As Leaders are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their third studio album, The Joy of Motion, with an Australian tour.
The trio of lead guitarist and bassist Tosin Abasi, rhythm guitarist and bassist Javier Reyes and drummer Matt Garstka are performing The Joy of Motion in its entirety, giving fans the chance to groove along to album highlights ‘Kaskade’, ‘Physical Education’ and ‘The Woven Web’.
Animals As Leaders’ highest charting album on the Billboard 200, peaking at #23, The Joy of Motion was a critical and commercial success, selling over 50,000 copies and ending up on many end-of-year lists.
Last in Australia in 2023, Animals As Leaders’ The Joy of Motion album anniversary tour begins in Adelaide at Hindley Street Music Hall on Friday, September 12. The tour continues with performances at The Tivoli in Brisbane (Sunday, September 14), The Forum in Melbourne (Thursday, September 18) and Enmore Theatre in Sydney (Friday, September 19), before their final gig at Magnet House in Perth on Sunday, September 21.
Support comes from Long Island’s experimental metal powerhouse Car Bomb.

Coming together in 2012, Animals As Leaders have been frontrunners in the djent scene since releasing their self-titled debut in 2009.
Across their nearly 15-year career, the prog metal trio have released five albums, their most recent being 2022’s Parrhesia.
The record was well received by music critics, with Kerrang! calling the album a “solid addition to the Animals As Leaders canon” and a record “that is as cerebral as it is emotional.”
