Anberlin Bring Their ‘Never Take Friendship Personal’ 20th Anniversary Tour To Adelaide
The band will perform their seminal sophomore album in its entirety on the tour.

First announced as one of the acts performing at next year’s An Emo Extravaganza in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Florida alt-rock heroes Anberlin have announced two sideshows in Adelaide and Perth.
The American rockers are touring to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their seminal sophomore album, Never Take Friendship Personal. The five-piece will perform the album in its entirety on tour, along with a healthy spread of fan favourites, with support from rising Virginia Beach pop-rock act Broadside.
This tour also sees the addition of Matty Mullins from Memphis May Fire, who is stepping in as live vocalist for Anberlin.
Anberlin’s Australian tour begins with an appearance at the Melbourne leg of An Emo Extravaganza on Sunday 22 February at PICA, before they play two sideshows in Adelaide at The Gov on Monday 23 February and in Perth at the Astor Theatre on Wednesday 25 February. The final two dates of the tour are part of An Emo Extravaganza at Sydney’s Roundhouse on Saturday 28 February and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday 1 March.

Originally coming together in 1998 under the moniker SaGoh 24/7 and releasing two albums, it wasn’t until a raft of personnel changes and a change of name to Anberlin that the band started to make waves in the American alt-rock scene.
They broke out in 2005 with their second album Never Take Friendship Personal, an album that became an instant emo rock classic, with the record receiving rave reviews and peaking at #3 on the US Heatseekers Chart.
Anberlin have gone on to release a further six albums, including Lowborn, which topped the US Top Alternative Album Chart, while consistently touring the globe, gaining a large fanbase with their riff-tastic tunes.
