It’s been 25 years since Alex Lloyd released his critically acclaimed sophomore album Watching Angels Mend. To commemorate the occasions, the Sydney singer-songwriter has announced a massive Australian tour.
Released in 2021, the record peaked at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart and produced a remarkable run of singles, with ‘Amazing’, ‘Green’, and ‘Everybody’s Laughing’ all reaching the Australian Top 40. ‘Amazing’ was, in particular, a huge hit for Lloyd, with the single coming in at #1 on the triple j Hottest 100 of 2001.
Having planned to tour the album for its 20th anniversary in 2021, the COVID lockdown threw Lloyd’s plans into chaos, with the singer marking the album’s 25th anniversary with a deserved tour.
Lloyd’s tour hits six states and territories from June to December, touching down in Adelaide for a special show at The Gov on Sunday 25 October.

Bursting onto the Australian music scene in 1999 with his debut album Black the Sun, which peaked at #9 on the ARIA Albums Chart and won Lloyd the ARIA Award for Best Male Artist, it was his follow-up album Watching Angels Mend that turned Lloyd into a star.
Lloyd has gone on to release six more albums, with his last being 2016’s Acoustica, which features re-recorded versions of some of his most successful tracks, and released two new singles in 2025 – ‘Echoes of Home’ and ‘I’m Sorry’.
He continues to tour regularly and has built a special rapport with fans across the country, with his upcoming celebration of Watching Angels Mend sure to be one for the ages.
