Pop superstar aleksiah has dropped her much-anticipated EP Good On Paper.
The five-track release includes singles ‘Bullsh*t, Baby!’, ‘Punch Drunk Love’ and ‘Faker’ alongside new tracks ‘Think About It’ and ‘Be The Diva’, the latter a euphoric slice of modern pop goodness.
aleksiah shares her excitement for the EP, “Good On Paper felt a lot like a big diary entry as I was writing it, it all came out within the span of a couple weeks. I was feeling deeply insecure about how perfect other people’s lives seemed, and wanted to write a collection of songs that explored the ugly foundations hiding underneath the brand new carpet. Troubles with love/sex, anxiety and mental illness, societal standards, hiding behind facades, and working through all of it to get to the other side. I want people to listen to this EP and feel that they’re not alone, and hope that they know being good on paper will never be as important as being good to yourself.”
Keen to perform tracks from the EP for her fans, aleksiah is embarking on a national tour this month, kicking things off at Perth’s The Y HQ on Friday 15 May. Dates follow at Brisbanes The Triffid on Thursday 21 May, Sydney’s Mary’s Underground on Friday 22 (sold out) and Sunday 24 May, Adelaide’s The Gov on Friday 29 May and Melbourne’s Howler on Saturday 30 (sold out) and Sunday 31 May.
