Hard rock favourites AC/DC are rumoured to be touring Australia later this year. According to a report by the Herald Sun, AC/DC are “strongly tipped for stadium dates in the last quarter of 2025”.
If correct, the tour would be AC/DC’s first on Australian soil since 2015’s hugely successful Rock Or Bust tour. That run of dates was memorable for featuring Phil Rudd behind the sticks for the first time since 1994, along with Stevie Young replacing the retiring Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar.
The Rock Or Bust tour ended in 2016 with Axel Rose taking over vocal duties after Brian Johnson suffered hearing issues.
Since then it’s been relatively quiet on the Acca Dacca tour front, with the band heading back into the studio and releasing their 17th album, Power Up, in 2020. The record was another smash hit for the Aussie rockers, reaching the #1 spot on the ARIA Album Chart along with topping the US Billboard 200.
Power Up was not just a commercial success, but also a critical one. In a four-star review, The Independent called Power Up “An unruly and un-woke 17th album rocks as hard as ever,” while Kerrang! wrote, “Power Up is a reminder that this music has a power that belies its apparent simplicity.”

Many were hoping for a world tour announcement, but besides a few one-off concerts, AC/DC stayed off the road following the release of Power Up. That all changed last year when the band finally revealed they would perform 24 European and North American dates.
Having completed the European leg of the tour last year from May to August, the band are gearing up for the remaining shows in America with support from The Pretty Reckless.
These gigs have seen another lineup change, with Matt Laug taking over the drums from Phil Rudd and Chris Chaney replacing Cliff Williams on bass.
Although no Australian dates have been confirmed, speculation persists that the band will tour Down Under in 2025, performing stadium shows in most major cities.
