Abbath Doom Occulta Plots ‘Return To The Raven Realms’ 2026 Australian Tour

Prepare to visit the dark side when extreme death metal frontman Abbath Doom Occulta raids Australia in 2026.
The founding member of Norway’s influential Immortal, Abbath’s Return To The Raven Realms tour is a celebration of his time with the band. Abbath has curated a special setlist featuring fan favourites and classic metal anthems he wrote with the band between 1992 and 2009.
Expect to hear songs like ‘Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism’, ‘Battles in the North’, ‘At the Heart of Winter’ and ‘Sons of Northern Darkness’ along with a few surprises.
Abbath’s Australian jaunt includes headline shows and festival appearances and begins with the Perth leg of Froth & Fury Fest on Saturday 24 January. Abbath then performs headline shows at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Tuesday 27 January, Sydney’s The Metro on Thursday 29 January and Melbourne’s The Croxton on Friday 30 January, with the final date being Froth & Fury Fest in Adelaide on Saturday 31 January.
The Norwegian will be joined by metal monsters Werevolves and black thrash act Bastardizer at his three headline shows.

Making his mark as the frontman of Immortal, Abbath Doom Occulta became one of the most revered figures in the burgeoning death metal scene of the ‘90s.
During his time with Immortal, the band released eight albums – including the 1998 classic At the Heart of Winter – and cemented themselves as one of the great death metal acts.
After a dispute with the other band members, Abbath left Immortal and went solo in 2015. He’s gone on to release three albums – Abbath (2016), Outstrider (2019) and Dread Reaver (2022) – but is excited to return to Australia and perform all the big Immortal tracks next year.
