Dublin-born singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe grew up in the working-class area of Monkstown Farm, where he pursued kickboxing and boxing as a kid and had thoughts of becoming an electrician.
But Rowe always had a burning desire to become an artist, and after encouragement from choir teachers at school, decided on a music career. Performing in local pubs, often four or five times a day, Rowe built up a local following before clinching a deal with Sony Music.
Inspired by American soul legends such as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and James Brown, along with Britpop bands like The Stone Roses and Oasis, Rowe writes heartfelt songs that have seen him tour alongside Ed Sheeran, Dermot Kennedy and David Gray.
Rowe’s upcoming Aussie shows are a great chance for local music lovers to catch the Irish performer in intimate settings before he blows up.
