Pioneers of goonerpop, 2charm have your Saturday night soundtracked with the release of their euphoric techno debut, star scum city.
The album features nine tracks of fist-pumping, shape-making future techno tracks that wouldn’t feel out of place in a sweaty Ibiza club or Melbourne’s own dive club Revolver.
Inspired by the EDM techno sleaze sounds of deadmau5, SOPHIE, Skrillex and Zedd, star scum city was created in collaboration with Ninajirachi, 1tbsp and Simon Lam (Kllo, Armlock).
2charm describes the album as “a tradie eating a Chromatica Oreo. It’s gay guy music video night, NRL grand final, post hyper-pop, techno, EDM, drain gang, sniffies, Brisbane, Paris, Euro summer, Melbourne winter fantasy. i.e., a generational debut album.”
To coincide with the release of their debut album, 2charm have shared the music video for ‘girls’, a song the duo say is “An ode to girls, and that especially includes trans girls!! Recession pop grandeur, escapism, euphoria. Ninajirachi on the beat and the word that’s on the street is all about girls”.
