Port Fairy Folk Festival organisers are going all out for the 50th edition of the long-running fest, announcing 21 new acts perfomring at next year's festival.

Held over the 2027 Labour Day long weekend in Port Fairy on the coast of South West Victoria from Friday 5 to Monday 8 March, the new additions are headlined by acclaimed American singer-songwriter Joan As Police Woman, US indie-folk favourites Midlake, Australian folk icons The Bushwackers, British guitar virtuoso Newton Faulkner and sea shanty sensations The Longest Johns.

Next year's event celebrates Port Fairy Folk Festival and all the people who have attended, played or been involved in some capacity over the past 50 years.

"For more than thirty years I have been involved in the Folkie, and during this time I have seen the Festival grow from a little gig on the back of a big red truck in the Botanic Gardens to a large-scale celebration that draws music fans and artists from all over the world," said Port Fairy Folk Festival Committee President Bruce Leishman.

"Fifty years is such a feat for our seaside village and we are proud to be a part of this community-led event. We thank our supporters, friends and family and most of all the Port Fairy community for getting behind this great event for fifty years!"

Port Fairy Folk Festival 2027 takes place at Port Fairy from Friday 5 to Monday 8 March. Lineup, accommodation options and ticketing information are available at portfairyfolkfestival.com.
