Palace Cinemas is excited to share the full program for this year’s St. Ali Italian Film Festival 2025.
Running for four weeks across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Ballarat, Byron Bay and Ballina, the Adelaide edition takes place from Wednesday 17 September to Tuesday 14 October at Palace Nova Eastend and Prospect.
The centrepiece of this year’s program is Oscar-winning Paolo Sorrentino’s drama La Grazia alongside award-winning filmmaker Ferzan Özpetek’s drama Diamonds (Dimanti), which stars Luisa Ranieri and Jasmine Trinca as sisters running a couture costume design house in 1970s Rome, and Paolo Genovese’s romantic comedy Someboy To Love (FolleMente).
Other highlights from this year’s program include the documentary Signorinella: Little Miss, a documentary focusing on the spirit of women in the Italian-Australian community narrated by Greta Sacchi, Academy Award-winner Gabriele Salvatores’ drama Napoli – New York, biopic The Great Ambition and box office hit The Boy with Pink Trousers (Il ragazzo dai pantaloni rosa).
This year’s St. Ali Italian Film Festival has a special presentation of the 2024 Venice Film Festival Grand Jury prize winner The Mountain Bride – Vermiglio (Vermiglio), includes a screening of gripping historical drama The Tasters (Le assaggiatrici) and closes with classic Australian coming-of-age drama Looking for Alibrandi, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Diamonds is making its Australian premiere as part of the festival, with a special Prosecco Preview taking place on Wednesday 10 September.
Join organisers and fellow film buffs for a complimentary glass of Bandini Prosecco on arrival before watching a screening of the flick. Those in attendance will also see previews of the major highlights of the festival, along with receiving a print copy of the program.
