The Australian Ballet’s 'Cinderella' To Premiere in Adelaide 2027
The production is part of a curated and immersive program of events taking place in September.

Ballet lovers are in for a treat next year when The Australian Ballet's production of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella makes its world premiere at Adelaide Festival Centre as part of a curated and immersive program of events.
Running from Wednesday 1 to Saturday 11 September, the program will also include Ballet en Masse, which will see the Festival Plaza transform into an open-air dance studio with free ballet classes for all ages and abilities and Taking Ballet, a series of conversations at Adelaide Festival Centre's Quartet Bar and Angry Penguin restaurant.
Ballet lovers can also attend workshops and classes conducted by The Australian Ballet in the Festival Centre Rehearsal Room and attend Cinderella: Origins of a Fairytale, a major exhibition combining costumes and rare collection objects including the original coach from the 1972 Frederick Ashton production.
The production of Cinderella is a three-act ballet featuring original choreography by Sir Fredrick Ashton and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra performing Prokofiev's iconic score. Cinderella is one of the largest productions The Australian Ballet presents and one of the five essential full-length ballets in the international repertoire.
Kristian Frederikson's exquisite 1972 costume designs will also be recreated for the 2027 premiere, alongside new sets by Richard Roberts.
