Tropical Fuck Storm have got everyone talking after announcing their fourth long player, Fairyland Codex, is dropping June 20 via Fire Records.
Roping in Michael Beach as co-producer, Tropical Fuck Storm retreated to their Dodgy Brothers studio in Nagambie, Australia, to lay down the tracks that would become Fairyland Codex.
According to the press release about the album, the ten tracks on Fairyland Codex “immerse us in the chaos of a fateful landslide, picking out the characters that litter the impending collapse of society.”
Along with the album announcement, Tropical Fuck Storm shared new single ‘Bloodsport’, which follows the previously released ‘Goon Show’. Inspired by Talking Heads, the funky art-rock arrangement features a stuttering guitar break and distorted vocals.
“A canticle of enticement to all dancing molecules left on planet earth to do their stretches and step into the ring for something braver than a bareknuckle fight; a pulse check,” reads a statement from the band about the tune.
“An anthem of resistance for all left with a beating heart to scoop themselves out of the bubble bath of social malaise and backyard domineering to perceive the ticking clock of reality square in the face before we are all left to eat Levis scraps like fruity loops in bowls of printer toner and orangutang juice.”
